Lipa Adventist Academy (LAA) is a boarding academy offering basic education. It is directed by the South-Central Luzon Conference of the Seventh-day Adventists. It is located on a five-hectare land in Bugtong, Lipa City about 76 kilometers south of Manila and about six kilometers north of the city proper of Lipa.
LAA was opened in June 1975. It has been recognized by the government since 1980. In June 1990, the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) granted LAA level I accreditation. LAA is accredited by the Adventist Accrediting Agency (AAA) and has been granted Level II status by the Association of Christians Schools, Colleges and Universities – Accrediting Agency, Inc. (ACSCU-AAI). In 2011, the Department of Education (DepEd) granted a permit to operate the LAA Elementary.
The students come from the provinces of Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Quezon, and Metro Manila. LAA also accepts foreign students as it is accredited by the Bureau of Immigration. In-campus students live either in the main dormitories – Adam Hall, for the boys and Damsel Hall, for the girls – where they board at the school cafeteria; or in the extension dormitories – Men of Distinction (MOD) Hall and Ladies’ Nest Hall – where they have an option to cook their own food. Those residing outside the campus are from Barangay Bugtong and its nearby barangays, as well as from the nearby municipalities of Lipa City.
LAA was established primarily to serve the need of the Seventh-day Adventists constituency of the South-Central Luzon Conference; however, it also accepts qualified students of other religious denomination.
